Re-Write

Nothing like getting 15,000 words into a new novel and realizing first person isn't working and you should be writing in third. I know I'll be happier in the end, and I already think it's a better story, but...grrr....

I hear ya. I've got 250+ pages of rejects of one of the current WIPs.

Hang in there and think of it as a learning experience...

Ha, I hear ya -- for the first round of Sweat, I got 12K words in and realized I was writing the wrong story... right characters, but wrong story!

Yup, hang in there! :)

I did that a while back. Then I found I had two characters fighting for the role of protag, and I couldn't get a strong sympathetic third going.

LOL The same thing happened to me on a NaNo novel, only in reverse. I started with third person, and ended up re-writing the whole thing from scratch in this really weird twist on second person. Since it was a NaNo, I did an entire draft in third. I counted it as a new novel and did the second person version as a NaNo too.
